TURBO Party Ideas And A Giveaway – [Closed]

Note: I am being provided with a free movie preview, and two prize packages to be given to entry winners. All opinions are my own.

Dreamworks Animation Turbo

Dreamworks Animation’s Turbo hits theaters  Wednesday, July 17.  Last weekend, I had the pleasure of previewing this movie about a racing snail so stayed tuned for my thoughts.  So in anticipation of it being the next hot theme on the party circuit, I’ve put together a few party ideas. Hang on to the end, I’ve got a fun giveaway for you.

Turbo Snapfish party ideas printables

Snapfish has a entire collection of free Turbo printables and downloads  filled with everything you will need, from a party kit containing invites, thank yous and party circles to coloring sheets and mazes for party activities.

No need to leave the comfort of your home for partyware. Birthday In A Box has a great selection of  themed items, from table settings to balloons.  Remember, you don’t have to buy everything themed, mix and match with solid colors to save money.

Turbo party ideas Birthday In A Box favor bagI’m not a big fan of pre-packaged favor bags, but I really like their set filled with items the kids will actually use later. How awesome is the balloon-powered race car?

Turbo party ideas paint your own wooden racing cars party activity

Of course, this movie is about racing, so here is an awesome way to keep your guests entertained.  For my little one’s recent birthday party, guests painted and decorated pull-back wooden cars (here on Amazon, but I found mine at a local craft store). We set up a track made from a roll of plastic tablecloth, and the kids spent most of the afternoon racing each other’s cars.  It was a huge hit!

Turbo party food ideas

What to serve to little bodies on the move? For our Cars party a few years, we used my favorite party trick…renaming our favorite foods! Pasta wheelies, fruit cars, and celery and carrot sticks become ‘dipsticks’ and a stack of chocolate donuts are tires in front of a garage.  No need for extravagance,  just a little cleverness.

Turbo party ideas movie prize pack

Now that I have you in party mode, to celebrate the movie’s  release, the folks of Allied Integrated Marketing who are sending me to the movie preview are offering one of my readers a really fun Turbo prize pack valued at $50.  Inside are glitter tattoos, light up keychains, a Launcher toy, a Transforming Taco Truck and a light up headband (not pictured).

Winner update: Thanks so much to everyone that entered! And the lucky entry drawn is #7 Emily!

My son is turning 6 and has seen a few trailers for the movie. He desperately wants to have a Turbo party and see the movie. He is already helping to plan the activities he would like to do at the party. Watching Turbo is in our near future. He is so excited.
