I love finding out about great products that make parents’ lives easier. About six months ago, I decided to try out a subscription service that seemed to meet that goal. There are other subscription services out there that claim to deliver art projects and craft activities to your door, but from my research, the BabbaBox subscription is different. I had to try it.
BabbaCo is a company that is the creation of Jessica Kim, a mom of three. She sought out to bring creative activities and educational enrichment to your door once a month. The boxes that arrive include everything you need to complete all the fun.
Each month your box revolves around a theme. Last month, our theme was “Shake It” and was all about music. My kids and I read a book called Animal Boogie, we painted maracas, we created our own tambourine, we listened to music, and we got to play with a musical app. The boxes are great for kids 3-7 years old, but younger and older siblings could definitely join in the fun.
Some boxes take longer to complete and others will be devoured in a few days. This month our box was all about birds and my kids wanted to do everything right away! We read Feathers for Lunch, we made our own nest with clay, we painted a birdhouse, and we learned about all kinds of different birds with a cool sticker book and poster. There was even an app that taught us about birds!
Each component in the box comes with a direction sheet and there is a guide that estimates how long each project will take. This is super helpful when you don’t have a ton of time, but the kids want to do something fun.
I can’t tell you how many times the BabbaBox has helped me to offer the kids a fun activity while I cook dinner. I can get them started and they can create something fun while I get something done! Most of the projects are fun to do together, while others take some time and your kids can really get into it on their own.
We LOVE the BabbaBox. As a former teacher, I love that there is a literacy component in each box. We look forward to seeing what new book we are going to get every month. My six-year old loves the creations he gets to make and can’t wait to download the new app each time we get a new box. I love that the apps are approved and previewed by BabbaCo so that I know it is educational and appropriate. There are so many apps out there that I don’t want my kids playing with and I just don’t have time to preview them all.
I can’t say enough about the BabbaBox. They just started offering three different subscriptions ranging from $6.99 a month to $29.99 a month.
