Are you ready to race? There are a bunch of great races coming up in the Seattle area that you won’t want to miss! Below is a list of my favorite spring races.
St. Patty’s Day 5k Dash – March 17th – Downtown Seattle
The biggest 5k in Seattle. Dust off your green running gear and pull out a Guiness as you dash through downtown Seattle finishing in, a beer garden. 1k Dash is offered for the kiddos! Note: No day of registration or packet pick up!
Mercer Island Half Marathon, 10k and 5k – March 24th – Mercer Island
The Swedish Cancer Institute puts on a great race for runners and walkers. Kids dash is also offered! The race helps raise funds and awareness to fight colon cancer and to benefit an array of other charitable causes supported by the Mercer Island Rotary Club Foundation.
Scrambled Egg 5K – March 30th – Redmond
It’s a 5k with an egg hunt built in! Participants will find different colored eggs scattered all over the course and each color will either help or hurt your time. We do not reveal what each color means until after the race! A fun and great way to celebrate Easter with the family.
Mud and Chocolate Half Marathon and 4.5 Mile Run – April 6th – Redmond
Chocolate lovers unite. Get ready to run through the trails and stop at chocolate aid stations along the way. If you didn’t get enough chocolate throughout the run, there is a chocolate finishers medal! Yum, YUM and yUM!! Kids bite size dash is also offered!
The Seahawks 12k Run – April 21st – The Landing, Renton
Calling all 12th men! Come out and show your true Seahawks love as your race through downtown Renton. The race is led by head coach Pete Carroll. If you are lucky, you might even be running next to an actual player. If that isn’t enough to get your husband to join you, mention that the SeaGals will be there to cheer them on (*wink *wink).
Top Pot Doughnut Dash – April 28th – Green Lake
Come out and enjoy and outer Green Lake loop race to support Childhaven. A free Caspar Babypants concert and doughnuts galore at the end of the race. Bring your appetite and the whole family. Kids dash is also offered!
My husband, daughter and I will be at most of these races and we hope to see you there!
Take good care and be well mamas!
