Strawberry Shortcake, Cream On Top

What I love about living out here in the Pacific Northwest, there is no shortage of farms. We are in full berry mode now, and between all the festivals, berry picking opportunities and a bevy of recipes, how could I not be party inspired by our official summer fruit, the strawberry?

I made this today, but I made one slight chnage. When I made my creamy strawberry sauce, I added a small piece of pineapple to make it pop out even more. This was absolutely delicious AND satisfied my horrible sweet tooth cravings. I love Garden Diet recipes pretty simple overall and hits the spot!
